“Fight for your dream.”

During this course, I have had to interpret pictures, poems, songs, and more. It has been fascinating. Now that I am looking at all my work, I realize that I chose a black and white painting with many empty spaces giving the statement of a balance between good and good and at the same time showing people. In my list of songs, I chose very variable themes. But the one that I identify with the most is the one from: “The Climb of Miley Cyrus.” And when I had to choose photos, I selected pictures about women’s violence since violence exists everywhere, either towards a woman or towards a child. So if we unite those three themes, I can put to my manifesto “Fight for your dream.”

“Fight for your Dream”

We live in a world that is supposed to balance good and evil, a world where there are good people and bad people. The difference is that today there are more good people than bad people. People find it very difficult to trust other people, especially regarding your safety or family member’s safety. But if people want a better lifestyle; if they want to achieve their dreams and goals, if they’re going to maintain a family, they would have to face the pain of leaving their country and emigrate to another country where it has more opportunities. The difference is that not everything is what it seems.
As I said before, we live in a world where evil is winning. And when people emigrate to a new country where they do not know its laws or rules, they have to arm themselves with courage and fight to survive. Otherwise, they would have to fly in the attempt. That is why I choose the painting “Black Unit by Willem de Kooning.” It is an abstract painting with many white spaces, but it represents people either in white or black. Also, the paint could be interpreted as that people go fast, so in this life, we all go fast and running because time does not adjust us. And people who emigrate to a new country have to adapt to that lifestyle, to go quickly. Because time passes, and if I can scare the change but you can’t stop.
However, not everything is as it is painted in the movies or how the family begins. They think that if we emigrate to other countries we go to a better world, and we don’t have any difficulties. That is not like that. The emigrants, if we fall in with the wrong person, it changes our lives. In this black world, there is abuse and more mistreatment of defenseless people, the weakest beings. For example, in this country, the United States, there is a lot of bullying. Children laugh at others, and it is just because they are different from them. This can lead to that child taking his life. Now, imagine if you are an immigrant, and you run into abusive people? Life changes you for the worse because of the fear of being deported, and you remain silent. Because of the psychology that these men or women instilled in your head, you are afraid to go to the police and report them. That is why I chose the theme of women violence, since many judges without knowing why that person is still next to an abuser. Many of the cases are for fear of being deported; other issues are for the children or may also be for fear of being alone. But violence is not that towards women. There is also domestic violence or, on the other side, women who mistreat men (few cases).
So when that happens to a person, everything scares him, and he no longer finds a sense to live. When you live in such a terrible situation, your body becomes paralyzed, and you do not see beyond what you have. The illusions are over. So in this song, I wanted to add one of my favorite songs, called “The climb by Miley Cyrus.” This song has always given me strength when I want to give up. And I think that everyone who has been mistreated or has faced a big country for the first time always needs to wear something that reminds him that he can and that there is always a way out for everything.
In conclusion, we have to learn to have more humility and less violence in this world where we live. You have to be brave and know the rules that never change, and one of those is the physical or psychological abuse towards another person. And we also have to know that we always have to keep fighting no matter how hard, difficult or dark the situation looks. There are always other ways out. We fight to survive and for your dreams.
